Welcome Honors Alumni,

I am honored to serve this year as the President of the Honors Alumni Chapter. I see the Honors Alumni Chapter as one that is unlike any other alumni chapter at UCF. We have groups of graduates from various parts of academia, and alumni that work for a vast range of employers. With a foundation like this, the possibilities are endless.

The purpose of our Chapter is to engage our alumni with the campus, other Honors alumni, and current Honors students to help foster a sense of community. As a fellow alumni, I want to express my desire to serve our alumni, understand your interests, and provide ways for you to get involved and stay connected. To help accomplish these tasks, we have elected a chapter board that meets regularly throughout the year. I welcome your input and comments on how we can better support the needs of our alumni.

We want to see more of you attend our events and become more involved. Every year we have an Honors Alumni Reunion the Friday of Homecoming (mark your calendars now!); a picnic in the spring; wine tasting at the Dean’s house; and discounted tickets for cultural events in the area (just to name a few). We also have a very successful e-mail mentoring program set up between alumni and current Honors students. We are always in need of more alumni e-mail mentors as the current students outnumber the participating alumni.

It is only with your support and involvement that a strong foundation for years to come can be formed. Congratulations on your accomplishments and welcome to the ranks of Alumni! As you move from student to alumnus of the Burnett Honors College , your involvement with your school does not have to end. It is just the beginning! I wish you much success and look forward to serving you throughout the year. Go Knights!
